The Maori tiki symbolizes fertility and childbirth. The frequently occurring hands placed on the loins are said to illustrate this meaning. As a necklace it is used as a good luck charm. A protector against evil spirits. Above all the Maori tiki is also a symbol of commemoration of ancestors.

Very pretty quality nephrite carving of a Hei Tiki. The quality is good. The item matches the description on the letter as on the picture. I was a bit disappointed that the carving was flat on the back. But looks good nevertheless. I think I need to replace the cord, I feel is too flimsy for a heavy pendant like this and the ends of the adjustable cord are itchy.

The item is a beautiful piece of carving and it is worth the price. However, you may have to pay additional postage depending on the country you are receiving the same. But overall, its really worth it.
